"Red and White Ramblings"
In last week's report we announced that Nigel and Ros Ponder from the Skipton Roadhouse had become the major sponsor of our Club. Part of their sponsorship will be through the cash purchase of either petrol or gas from the Roadhouse by our members. Simply present your membership card at the time and our Club will benefit from the sale.
Congratulations to Chris Shelton, who played his 200th Reserves game with the Club against Natte Bealiba. Recruited from Learmonth in 1986 Chris has now played a total of 256 games for Skipton.
Over the last few months the Committee has been endeavouring to introduce items of memorabilia to the Club, and a number of photographs can now be seen on the walls of our Social Rooms. Honour Boards are also being prepared and will gradually be displayed. We would be pleased to hear from anybody that has information regarding past executive, coaches and best & fairest winners to assist us update what information we have.
Our Annual Sheep Drive was held last Sunday and our Treasurer, Ian Robertson, has asked that the Committee's appreciation be passed on to all those who assisted and more importantly to all those who supported the Club.
One of our main projects over the last couple of years has been the upgrading of the training light on the oval. Led by Adrian Williams we have been able to achieve that and this week the power will be connected to the lights on the far side of the ground. The lights on the netball court are also being upgraded making training easier for the netballers.
Because there will be no Reserves game this week against Landsborough there has been a change to the starting times.
The Junior Netball will start at 12 midday, the Junior Football at 12:30 pm and the Senior Football at 1:45 pm.
The advertised date of the Players Calcutta has been changed to Saturday the 19th May after the home match against Lexton.
