"Red and White Ramblings"
The Netball Section of the Football Club held their meeting on Monday 5th of March at the Club Rooms. Our meeting was chaired by John Peeters, the President of the Skipton Football Netball Club, and also in attendance were David Poulton, the Secretary and Ian Robertson the Club Treasurer.
The meeting was well attended by players, but it was disappointing to only see three mothers from our Junior section attend. We need more support from the mothers of the junior players.
Katherine Gillespie is now the Chairperson for the Netball and Cheryl Sturgeon was renominated as the Manager. Trudy Boyer has accepted the task of Coach for the Seniors and Reserves again for this season. The two senior sides have lost about five players from last season but we are sure that Trudy will be able to fill those positions with new players.
As yet we still have no coaches for the Junior sides, so if there is anyone interested please get in touch with either Cheryl Sturgeon or Katherine Gillespie.
The Senior and Reserve Training starts this Wednesday (Tonight) 14th March at 6:30pm and will also be on the following Wednesday 21st March, then will go back to Thursday night. By then everyone will be informed.
The Under 14 and Under 17 teams will also start training this week at 5 o'clock. Katherine Gillespie will be there for the Under 14's and Cheryl Sturgeon for the Under 17's. We will have training the same as the Seniors for the first two weeks.
By then we may have coaches.
These first two weeks will mainly be for the juniors to find out who is playing, so if you cannot make it to training but intend to play, please let us know.
