Skipton versus the Ararat Eagles at Skipton
"Red and White Ramblings"
The footy season kicked off for the local teams with a home match against the Ararat Eagles.
The ground was in very good condition due to the efforts of club members. The toss was won by Skipton and players had their skills tested by the windy and wet conditions due to continual rain during the afternoon.
It was a strong team performance with the forward line dominating the game. New players Troy Janssens (5 goals) and Tim McKay (4 goals) made good first impressions.
The home team proved too strong for the visitors, with Skipton running out winners.
