SENIOR FOOTBALL: Skipton 20 - 14 - 134 defeated Lexton 6 - 4 - 40
With the aid of a strong wind Lexton gave notice early in the first quarter that our Seniors could be in for a hard game! Using the wide open spaces of their oval Lexton created the loose man with their play-on style of football, and continually ran the ball into their forward line.
However, as has happened throughout the season our backline were able to withstand the pressure and held them to two goals, while we were able to kick two against the wind. From quarter time our players gradually gained control, kicking a further 18 goals against Lexton's 4.
Rod Kennedy was our best player, enjoying the wide open spaces and showing that he is regaining form after returning from an injury. The inclusion of his brother Mark in the team has added depth to our list. Mark decided early in the week to return from North Ballarat for the remainder of the season to join Rod and Craig in the opportunity of playing in the finals series.
Tony Boyer and Wayne Grace were two other players who continued their good form, along with Nick Watson in the ruck. Andrew Clark and Graeme Lench were strong in defence and over all it was another strong team effort.
The loss to Illabarook has given the team a two game break at the top of the ladder. However, we play the other four teams in the five over the next few weeks, which will be a big test as to where we are at.
Best players: R. Kennedy, T.Boyer, W. Grace, N. Watson, A. Clark, G. Lench.

Although the opposition continued to apply pressure for the remainder of the game the player's efforts were rewarded with a good win.
Josh Cahill led the way on the wing and he was well supported by Cory Cassar in defence and Bill Molloy around the ground. The real test will come this Saturday when we play the top team Rokewood Corindhap at home!
